It takes a special person to become a nurse. Nursing is a calling; a way of life. It is then appropriate that nurses are honored not only during their career, but also at the end of their life’s journey. The Nebraska Nurses Foundation is proud to provide the Nightingale Tribute as such an honor.
The Nightingale Tribute is intended for any registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. It is to be presented during a funeral service by a nursing colleague or friend, honoring the late nurse’s years of service.
The entire tribute takes only a few minutes and can be performed at any time during the service in collaboration with the family, funeral home, and/or place of worship as appropriate.
Nightingale memorial contributions may be suggested in care of the Nebraska Nurses Foundation to further the professional practice of nursing through educational offerings and opportunities.
Help us support nurse-led initiatives to improve and promote the health of Nebraskans.
